The Sumter County Republican Party recognized local businessman Steve Munz as the recipient of the 2021 Mike Francis Leadership Award at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner held at the Savanna Center in The Villages on October 23. Munz, a Sumter County native, is an entrepreneur who owns Galaxy Home Solutions, Silo Oaks Event Venue, 5M Ranch, among many other ventures. He was recognized for his leadership and benevolence in the community as well as his contribution to the fight for local voting rights as the leader of the One Sumter Committee.
