NEW REPUBLICAN CLUB FORMED IN THE VILLAGES

The Republican Club of The Villages Florida (RCTVF) is now an officially chartered Republican Club in The Villages®.

Republican Party of Florida Chairman, Evan Power, attended RCTVF’s March 12th meeting at the Ezell Recreation Center and presented Jim Daunis, president of the newly formed Republican Club, its official charter.

“This is a great moment for our club and the Republican Party of Sumter County,” said Daunis. “Only three months, we held our first meeting and we have now nearly tripled our membership. We are growing by leaps and bounds,” he added.

For his part, Power praised the club’s enthusiasm and commitment to action. “The best thing I heard when I arrived was that the group was filled with workers. I like workers,” Power said.

Daunis reiterated that the Club’s purpose is to work closely with local, state and national party leadership to help Republicans get elected to office.

Daunis was quoted in The Villages Daily Sun as saying, “We have to band together and get our candidates elected. That’s the whole purpose of the Republican Party of Florida, as well as every other state (party), and the clubs below them. I think it’s going to be a great election year.”

RCTV’s principal objectives are to attract members and involve them in the Republican Party, as well as supporting the principles, objectives, and platform of the Republican Party and help secure the election of all nominated Republican candidates in the General Election and registered Republicans in non-partisan elections.

The Club’s principal focus will be on attracting Republicans residing in the new areas of The Villages south of SR-44, although all registered Republican Villagers, regardless of where they live, are welcome. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Ezell Recreation Center with doors opening at 6PM and the meeting starting at 6:30. Villagers are reminded to bring their valid Villages ID cards to gain entry.
