WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump pledged Tuesday to “never forget” the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as some victims’ families in New York publicly urged Mayor Zohran Mamdani to stay away from Friday’s 25th anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero. Trump spoke at the Ellipse near the White House alongside a 21-foot steel beam recovered from the South Tower of the World Trade Center, part of a nationwide commemoration ahead of the anniversary. “We gather on another Tuesday morning in September to reaffirm the sacred vow we made a quarter of a century ago: We will never forget,” Trump said.
