May Meeting Update

May 16, 2016 | By The Republican Club of The Villages of Marion County

The next meeting of The Republican Club of The Villages of Marion County is scheduled for Thursday, May 19th at the Mulberry Grove Regional Recreation Center.  Our speaker will be State Representative Marlene O’Toole.  As you know Marlene O’Toole, a Village resident for many years, has been our Representative for the past 8 years.  In that capacity she became well known for her excellent legislative work, particularly on education issues.

Representative Marlene O’Toole will be reviewing the recent legislative session.  I expect she will also be highlighting the accomplishments achieved in the last legislative session and touching on the areas that need additional work in next year’s session.

I anticipate that some of the Republican candidates running in the August 30th Primary may also be there for the meet and greet.  We will have several interesting contests in the primary and in the general election right here in Marion County.  Even though the qualifying period for all of the public offices does not close until June 24, our June 16th meeting will focus on the offices that are up for election in Marion County.

The meet and greet begins at 6:30 PM with the meeting starting at 7:00 PM.  You do NOT have to be a Republican, but you do have to be a Village Resident or have a Village’s Guest ID to attend.  This restriction is necessary to allow us to use the Recreation Centers at no charge since we are a Resident Lifestyle Club.
